Penelope Jagessar Chaffer & Family

How many 7 year olds do you know get invited to have their own art exhibition?  I know of  one remarkable young boy- Penelope Jagessar Chaffer’s son Zephyr Hawk!   His intricately detailed drawings of skyscrapers, bridges and trains -all from memory are really quite extraordinary. I met Penny at Zephyr’s exhibition in Brooklyn and quickly realized he not only inherited his mother’s beauty but her incredible creativity as well!  And that’s just 50% of his DNA!    Continue reading →

the Play Date

Jessica Alba, Honor, Haven and Brooklynn

Tallulah and I were excited heading to Los Angeles to spend time at the home of Golden Globe-nominated actress Jessica Alba-I’m a huge fan–she’s a great comedienne-I adored her in Little Fockers!  We drove to her Beverly Hills home tucked away high in the hills-It was a real maze to find her-she’s very well hidden.  I LOVE that about LA-one minute you are deep in city traffic the next surrounded by serenity and beauty.  We arrived at the house to a mountain of Tutus!!  I’m not kidding-there must have been close to a hundred!  The girls could have hidden underneath this pile of tutus and we would have lost them for days.   Continue reading →

the Play Date

Lorie Baker & son Beckett

Where better to have a play date than outside your door particularly when the magnificent Jane’s Carousel is just steps away.  Days before their big move to Miami, Tallulah and I met Lorie and her son Beckett at their loft in DUMBO which they share with daddy Bertil (the trio have recently starred in a Banana Republic Campaign). Looking like an oversized magical music box, the completely restored historic Carousel made by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1922 is housed inside a glass Pavilion designed by Pritzker Prize winning French architect Jean NouvelContinue reading →
