Jenny Le, General Manager of Opening Ceremony Los Angeles is undeniably the most stylish woman I know! She wears the most daring of outfits so beautifully and effortlessly. On our recent trip to Los Angeles we were able to spend time with lovely Jenny. We talked family, Fort Greene, fashion… Juiced a mountain of fresh vegetables (hey we’re in LA) and Tallulah challenged her to numerous games of Uno!
Jenny, how would you describe your style? I’m not committed to any idea of myself, however I find most of my inspirations come from cinema and music.
What are your earliest memories of fashion? I grew up as a scary looking goth really!
Did you have any style icons growing up? Anja Huwe from X-Mal Deutschland
You have quite a collection of vintage Polaroid cameras. When did you start collecting and how did your love of photography develop? I have been collecting cameras since i was 10. The realm of photography leads itself to a captured moment that cannot be duplicated and through that moment, so much is revealed.
Speaking of Vintage -I know your a huge vintage clothes shopper. Can you share some of your favorite Vintage haunts in LA and NY? I love Mister Freedom in Los Angeles. I love the Fort Greene flea market, Malin Landaeus, and Stella Dallas in NY. I also love Thanx God i’m a v.i.p. in Paris. I love things with a history, a story. Like Bourgeois says, “Happy people have no stories, they have no history. they have nothing to say”.
Tallulah when entering your apartment said “WOW” when she saw your collection of shoes-more like an art exhibit-running the length of your hallway- I loved the vintage Maud Frizon booties. What are some of your current favorite shoe designers? It’s always shifting, I love most objects that have a sense of juxtaposition or humor to it.
Tallulah was mesmerized watching you apply your eye makeup. What products would we find in your make up bag? Mostly eye minerals.
AND Lastly, What are you wearing throughout the photos? A vintage dress I bought over 10 years ago in Belgium Vintage. Maud Frizon vintage boots, Delfina Delettrez eye earring. The necklaces are all vintage collectives, my favorite though is the shortest one which was a birthday gift from my youngest sister who brought it home from Petra, Jordan.
